We categorize Avigilon's third party IP camera support as limited because many VMS system support a dozen or more manufacturers. Avigilon also is supported by PSIM provider Proximex.
AVIGILON CONTROL CENTER 4 CLIENT WINDOWS 7
One other element to call out is Avigilon's on-line technical training videos. Moderate third party/enterprise support though with some notable gaps.Provides key benefits for use with Avigilon cameras offset by bandwidth load of Avigilon's JPEG2000 codec.Workflow is simple and compact with a few potential areas for confusion.Additionally, the remote client was hosted on a Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo and 4GB memory.
AVIGILON CONTROL CENTER 4 CLIENT PRO
The test was hosted on a Windows XP Pro server, using Avigilon's 5 MP HD-DN and the 2 MP HD-DN in addition to the Axis Q1755. In this test, we examine Aviglon's Control Center VMS version 4.2. With interest in megapixel high, many are curious to understand the capabilities and features of Avigilon's VMS - both for use with its own cameras and third party IP cameras. Any insight you can offer will be great. While Avigilon is best known for its high resolution cameras (up to 16 MP), Avigilon offers its own VMS, Control Center, a system that is required for using their cameras. I'm no expert in either piece of software, so my review may not be completely accurate. With Axis, you only get one camera at a time. Avigilon's player allows playback of saved footage for multiple cameras in one viewer. I don't know if Avigilon has a case so you can rack mount four encoders?
Axis has a 16 channel rack mountable encoder, while Avigilon only has 4 channel encoders. We occasionally have to burn hours of footage, so with Axis, there would be many, many files.Įncoders: Axis wins. When motion recording is utilized, Axis saves each bit of motion in its own AVI file, while Avigilon produces only one file. So far, we have performed a limited test and found some tradeoffs. Any advice or experience you can share will be appreciated. We are installing encoders for a lot of analog cameras and are trying to decide between Axis Camera Station Client with Axis encoders and Avigilon Control Center with Avigilon encoders.
